Show me faith without works, and i will show you faith BY my works.
Keeping your head cool in all situations is extremely important in life. There are plenty of people who resort to yelling at one another or themselves the moment something goes off kilter. I'm not sure what is in a person to make them do that, but it isn't always a wise reaction. Feelings are often hurt. Unkind words are spoken. Poor decisions are made in a flurry of emotions. The Bible says in James that, "The anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God." It is a saying worth taking into account. A hot mess of a person in a pinch does nobody any good, and in my life, does not encourage me to be around those types of people in a pinch. Seeing that my life can be full of pinches, if you find yourself in that category, we may have some conflicts of interest. It has always been important for me to immediately count my blessings. Any situation could always be worse. The things that matter most are that the decisions that are being made are made with a level head and a well-said prayer as a precursor. James also says, "Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.." just before the previous verse. I wouldn't recommend being the first person to snap off at somebody when the keys are missing, or you forgot the groceries, or you lost your wallet. I know it sounds drastic, but I always think to myself, "If i cannot keep calm over something that's absent, how on earth would i react in a life-threatening situation where my next decision could mean living or dying?" It brings things into perspective. I've never been shot at, mugged, or held against my will. I figure those would be situations worth getting excited about, but James STILL yet encourages us to be joyful in any sort of trial. We are to always look to God, have His peace in our hearts, and carry on with the adventure. Thanks everyone. Love and hope for all.
