April 2nd, True quitters never win!

Saturdays are the best days... sometimes. Other times they are full of surprises and EXTREMELY lax schedules, at least in my case. I can't remember the last time a saturday ever turned out the way i woke up thinking it would. Allow me to summarize this saturday:

I woke up at 8:00 a.m. to meet my parents and grandparents at Chappy's for breakfast. I'm not even going to try and make it seem like i'm an early bird; i aspire to wake up early but more often than not i never get around to sleeping until 1 or 2. Not a good combination when the following day promises busyness.
After breakfast, i killed time by going to the Guitar Shoppe next to Chappy's and checking out some new drum kits they had. If i had money, i would have bought one but instead i settled for playing around on them while talking to my buddy Tim Spicer. At 10, i met Starlyn (my fiance for those of you unfamiliar with her name) at the jewelry store where we found and bought our wedding bands. If i haven't said before, Starlyn is the BEST person to shop with. She knows what she wants and what she doesn't, so it doesn't make it hard to find something to buy. Our money is important to us, so it isn't a commodity easily spent. After this we parted ways until later that evening.
I went to help my grandfather build ramps for his house. After years (and i do mean YEARS) of hard labor, his body has finally retired. This has been hard for everyone to adjust to. He was always very active and still WANTS to be, so you can imagine the transition has been difficult. On the bright side, i have had a lot of opportunities to learn things working with him that no other person could teach me. He's got experience that's hard to come by these days, so it's nice to get time with him whenever i can.
Due to the combined efforts of both us, we managed to make a 2.5 hour job into a 5.5 hour job. I won't go into details, but we managed to make all the little mistakes that make your job that much longer. Life lessons, and a lot of mistakes i won't ever make twice.
At 6:45 i picked Starlyn up from her house to celebrate our 2nd anniversary of being in a relationship together. This was one of the highlights of the DAY. We pride ourselves in usually matching or having some common theme between us whenever we hang out (purely by accident), but this time we missed the boat. She dressed in my usual colours: Red and black, in a dress that was beautiful. I dressed in her usual temper, looking an explosion of spring with orange pants, blue shirt, orange/blue tie, and white suspenders. It was a bit of a clash, but i'm not one to complain. The food was great at Zazu's, the conversation was great that night as we talked about a lot of things ranging from daily events to wedding plans to spiritual thoughts. The perfect anniversary in my books.
